Hi! I’m Sarah.

I’m so glad you are here.

The right fit matters in a therapist because you’re not starting from scratch, you know a lot about yourself and what you need! I’m a licensed therapist concentrating on working with people trying to turn their self-awareness into real change. I specialize in people who might call themselves people-pleasers or perfectionists, who seem to have it all together but are straining with how tightly they are grasping for control. The decision to start therapy can often be complicated, especially if you tend to over-think and intellectualize your problems. It’s frustrating when you are self-aware and know all the mental health tips or read the self help books, but you still feel so stuck.

I help you find safety in yourself

I bring silliness, warmth, and compassion to sessions while still using direct and honest language to help challenge stuck belief systems, such as “I’m not good enough, I have to be perfect, I can’t make mistakes.” I know what it’s like to feel like your needs come secondary to others and believe your worth is tied to something external. I want to help you get to a place where you know you’re enough as you are and not because of what you do and that mistakes and imperfections will never define you. I want to help you find peace in the unknown and safety in yourself.

Who I am

Here’s a little bit about me.

  • 10 years of experience in counseling individuals.

  • Specializes in dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

  • Passionate about creating a non-judgmental and calm space.

  • Loves helping people find their most authentic selves.

Who you are

If you’re looking for the following, we might be a good match.

  • To be curious about what’s causing you to feel stuck and unsatisfied.

  • To identify the best changes for you to help you live the life you want.

  • To challenge old ways of thinking and seeing the world and willingness to consider new possibilities.

  • To embrace the weird and imperfect parts of life.

My Story

I spent 5 years in community mental health, working with a diverse range of concerns and mental illness. In 2022, I opened my private practice and have spent these years working with clients to help them let go of trying to control what others think in order to build authenticity and deepen connection.

I became a therapist because I felt frustrated with how much shame and fear of failure keeps us trapped in a life of expectations and pressure. It’s exhausting being bombarded by thoughts of what you “should” do or beating yourself up about what you have done. I aim to create a space free of judgment, where you can make mistakes, be human, and let your weirdest self out.

When I’m not doing therapy you can find me reading, crocheting (or really any type of crafting), spending time in nature, or cuddling with my Australian Shepard, Murphy.
